Hops Bread


Makes 10-12

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups hot water
1 tbsp. shortening
2 Ibs. or 8 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. granualted sugar
1 pack or 1 tbsp. instant yeast

Method
1) Stir hot water & shortening until the shortening melts and the water is lukewarm.
2) Combine in a large bowl 6 cups flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
3) Place on floured surface and knead for 5 minutes adding remaining 2 cups flour until dough is moderately stiff.
4) Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel or cling wrap and let rise until doubled (approx 35-45 minutes)
5) After dough has risen, punch it down then form into balls 3" in diameter. Place on greased baking tray, cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise until doubled (approx 35-45 minutes)
6) Bake in preheated oven 400 degrees Farenheit for 15-20 minutes
